"BARE KNUCKLES" fights its way to DVD and Digital Download June 1st from Image Entertainment

NO FEAR...NO MERCY...NO GLOVES

In the hugely popular world of Mixed Martial Arts, sometimes the lines cross between professionally sanctioned sport and vicious backyard & alley brawls tied to illegal gambling. So…why would a woman want to enter such a brutal world? On June 1st Image Entertainment will provide the answer with Bare Knuckles, the story of a mother prepared to escape a dead-end existence by risking her own life. Bare Knuckles will be available on both DVD and digital download, including special features; and with an SRP of $27.98, it won’t bruise your wallet. Pre-book is May 4th.

Based on a true story, Bare Knuckles shows how far a woman will go to provide for the ones she loves. Samantha Rogers (Jeanette Roxborough, 16 Blocks) is a cocktail waitress and single mother, trapped in a job she hates – but willing to stay for the daughter she loves (Teya Roxborough). When Sam ends a bar fight between two drunk women, she catches the eye of a down and out fight promoter, Sonny Cool (Martin Kove, The Karate Kid I- III ). He introduces her to the “show” – the highly lucrative, extremely dangerous and completely illegal world of high-stakes all-female bare knuckle fighting.

A winner at the Downbeach Film Festival for Best Picture and Best Actress (Jeanette Roxborough), Bare Knuckles features a talented cast including Chris Mulkey (Cloverfield, “24”). Also appearing is Bridget ‘Baby Doll’ Riley, Black Belt Hall of Famer, owner of 5 World Kickboxing Titles and 1 World Boxing Title. Appealing to both the cinema and the sport, Bare Knuckles definitely provides a two-fisted attack!

Bare Knuckles is a story of merciless skills and deception. But it’s also a story of parental courage and love. Samantha’s morals may tell her to keep out of the ring, but as a fiercely loyal mother, how can she stay away?
